Level 5's Impressive 3DS Support
I love Professor Layton. By default, that means I love Level 5 -- the guys that made Professor Layton. Now I love them even more. Why? Find out after the jump.
Update: Layton Trailer Included
This morning, Level 5 had their annual conference. Typically, they announce new games and generally show why they rule. This year was no exception.
Let's start with the biggest news of all: Professor Layton is crossing over with Capcom's Ace Attorney series. Titled Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney, one instantly thinks of a fighting game. Who can blame you? However, this isn't the case, as the two heroes -- Layton and Phoenix Wright -- are stuck in a strange and magical city, and will need to use their respective talents to get out, and perhaps unravel greater mysteries. Oh, and it's coming to the 3DS.
The 3DS will also be home to the next installment of Professor Layton lore...Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle. It was converted mid-project from a DS title to a 3DS title, and is a suspected 3DS launch title for Japan.
Time Travelers is another new 3DS title that we know little about, other than the fact it involves, well, time travelers and a good helping of suspense.
An older bit of tid that resurfaced was Level 5's partnership with Nintendo 2nd Party Brownie Brown. Titled Fantasy Life, more than 20 potential careers with the goal of "living." Numerous online features will be included, which is a joyous announcement -- Nintendo games, second party or not, have a tendency to ignore online components.
There were also some odd PSP etc. announcements, like Little Battler Experience and others mainly dealing with Ni No Kuni (which will have installments on DS and PS3) and some quirky games that will definitely leave Japan when we live on Mercury. You can check out a fantastic live-blog here.
