No, seriously, there's no money left. America has spent all of its money on movie tickets to The Avengers. $200.3 million domestic gross in its opening weekend. Holy cow.

Yes, I'm aware that this is the fourth Avengers post in a row we've done on this site (one of which is my review, check it out here!) and we don't usually post box office results, but considering the fact that The Avengers beat out the previous opening weekend domestic record of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, Part 2 by a little over $30 million, I'd say it's news-worthy.

More interesting statistics via Box Office Mojo:

Opening night domestic gross: $80.5 million
Worldwide Gross: $641.8 million
Widest Release: 4,349 theaters

Keep in mind that The Dark Knight Rises comes out later this summer. This could be one of the most profitable years for Hollywood ever. Either way, this:
