So yeah... weee...

I wanted to see some District 9 love but I knew it was never going to happen. Guess The Hurt Locker deserved most of what it got, pretty amazing film
At least Avatar didn't win anything important.
Although I think District 9 should've won best art. Avatar was just "LET'S MAKE EVERYTHING BRIGHT AND GLOWY WEEEEEEEE!!!!"
But it didn't win any important awards, so I'm happy. Go back home James Cameron with nothing and contemplate your overpriced piece of crap film.
I wouldn't consider it an "upset," but I am glad that Hurt Locker won, after all I wouldn't really consider it your typical "oscar film" (although, I have yet to see it actually). Other than that, I thought Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin were pretty funny.
It was very much your typicaly "oscar film." Especially considering it grossed less than $25 million, putting it in the bottom three money-makers of the ten nominations. Not saying it wasn't a great film, but it's not at all an upset or a surprise.
It was very Oscar Groomed, but of all the movies nominated that I saw, Hurt Locker was the best. Only UP came close, but the Academy will never give an animated movie it's "Best Picture" award. They think just getting nominated is the reward. One of these days, they'll learn.
Anyway, I'm just glad Avatar didn't steal the show. It was pretty evenly split overall, with a lot of different movies taking different categories. So I'm happy about that. I usually don't like it when a movie basically sweeps the show unless it's really, REALLY deserving.
